What is Lutein? 

Lutein is an antioxidant that occurs naturally in the body. It protects and improves eye function. It is part of a group of substances called carotenoids. Lutein and other carotenoids such as zeaxanthin may help prevent or slow macular degeneration (eye disease).

A large body of evidence shows that lutein has anti-inflammatory properties as well as several beneficial effects, especially on eye health. In particular, lutein is known to improve or even prevent age-related macular disease which is the leading cause of blindness and vision impairment.
